Wow this bakery is good. This is a local cakery and Rita's products are available both from her little shop in West Ocean City (other side of Route 50 from the outlet stores) and by the slice at some of the delis. Better still, the Wine Rack stores carry her pies and cakes frozen. Apparently Rita's best seller is the Rita's Delight, which is yellow cake, custard, pineapple, and whipped cream. Absolutely addictive. We've tried several of her other cakes but always seem to come back to Rita's Delight. I recommend buying a whole one at the Wine Rack for $16, letting it thaw in the refrigerator overnight, and then slicing and devouring. The ingredients are top quality -- no corn syrup. Based on the samples we've been given at the Rita's store, the brownies are superb, and the potato chip cookies are wonderful too. Someday I want to try the cheesecake but we keep getting other things first.

We were in OC in vacation this past week. It was my granddaughter's birthday and we did not want a frozen brick from Food Lion. Googled in hopes of finding something good and found Rita's on Route 50. What a find! We went with a Chocolate Fudge Cake with buttercream icing. Outstanding!! Please visit them. You'll love them.

Looking for a cake for my fiance's birthday in OC, I came across Desserts by Rita on the net and gave a call after reading the few reviews on yelp. I called to order a Rita's Delight, her signature cake. Now I typically do not review things, but feel this was worth the time to. The entire party was blown away by her cake. It was fluffy and creamy. The left over became our breakfast. Fantastic cake. Not too sweet. The whip cream was fresh and the pineapples were a perfect complement. Do try and keep in mind that gps will take you past her store on 611. Store is in the plaza with the shell gas station on the intersection of 611 and 50.

Awesome awesome awesome( say it like Gomer Pyle)My daughter found this place. We have ordered many "white cakes" with butter cream frosting...THIS is the best cake EVER. I went to the factory once to pick up a cake and met Rita in person, what a sweetheart..figures.

OMG. This is the best cake I've had in a long time. Seriously. Yellow cake with white icing had this this amazing sweet-salty thing going on. Holy moly. Every adult had a second piece. Run don't walk!

Tried to place an order this morning and the woman that answered my call acted inconvenienced by my order. She stated that she was in the middle of mixing and seemed irritated that I wanted to ask questions about placing a birthday order. Poor customer service.

Searched and found Rita's Desserts, not to be confused with Rita's Ice Cream, Custard, and Gelato, whose 6700 store helped us find our way to West Ocean City. Seems M-I-L and now deceased husband were Rita's aficionados 25+ years ago for a slice of "Lemon Lust" any time they were in Ocean City! Besides the three of us (spousal unit, M-I-L, and me) buying a slice of Lemon Lust, we bought a slice of Rita's Delight and a Russian Mouse Cake which had been wet soaked in Chocolate Liquor...all to die for. Wawa on westward gave us three plastic forks, which we used to divide up the cakes each three ways as we drove 404 Virginia bound. We filled out our order with three cranberry chunk cookies, and a box of assorted bite sized morsels. The very nice young lady helping us out said that Rita is still alive and that today she was working in the kitchen (off-site somewhere else). In remembrance of the good times our parents had in their Ocean City yesteryears, our search for today's Rita's Desserts was extremely rewarding!
